Philosophy
A Place to Learn Through Play
With our holistic early childhood education philosophy, we understand and value that each child has unique needs and interests.
Following the Early Childhood Curriculum "Te Whariki" teachers at Flora and Fauna provide an amazing environment where tamariki and whanau are support and valued to ensure every child thrives.
Teachers share open communication with families, welcome their ideas and understand the important role whanau being connected to and involved in the early childhood setting plays in children's sense of belonging, emotional and physical well-being and development.

Teachers at Flora and Fauna Early Learning Centre ensure they develop and maintain respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships with tamariki, to support tamariki to feel a strong sense of belonging.
When teachers at Flora and Fauna introduce children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow time and space for tamariki to engage and explore at their own pace while scaffolded by our knowledgeable teaching team, this provides tamariki with opportunities to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them.
When tamariki leave Flora & Fauna Early Learning, they will be confident, competent and capable learners.
