Open hours: Flora & Fauna is open from 8:30am until 3:30pm Monday to Friday.

Ratios: We provide maximum ratios of 1:8 which exceeds the Ministry of Educations recommendations of 1:10

 

Lunch Boxes: Please provide your children with a nutritious lunchbox for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
 

Nappies / Toileting: Please provide enough nappies for your child for the day, children will be encouraged and supported to use the toilet, teachers and whanau will have open communication about toileting and what will work best for the child while they are at the Centre.
 

Sleeping: For children who require an afternoon nap we have beds, blankets and a cozy space to sleep. Bring along any snuggles or comforters.

 

Public holidays: Flora & Fauna will be closed on public holidays; full charges will apply for public holidays.
 

Christmas Holidays: Flora & Fauna is closed for 2weeks over the Christmas holidays, the dates of closure will change yearly, the dates will be communicated to parents on the 1st of October.
 

Teachers only days: Flora & Fauna will be closed for one teacher's only day per term to allow time for teachers to attend professional development, work on children's learning assessment and other teaching requirements. Teachers only days will be set out at the start of each year. Full fees apply for teachers only days.
 

Forest Schooling: Ngahere Kura is part of our STEMS (transition to school program). Our STEMS children participate in our forest schooling program each Friday during Terms 1 and 4.
